Web Design for Northern Ireland Businesses

Website design and development is our core activity, and we can quote for any type of web design project from simple brochure web pages to complex database driven websites. We can design fully compliant CSS based websites if required. We will provide a quick estimate and if your project looks like being over £2k in value we will visit you to discuss it in in detail. For smaller visits a visit isn't usually needed, but if you want to, we can arrange to see you for a small charge.

Webdesign

Before you get a quote for your website, you may want to get familiar with some of the issues and jargon. Here are some websites you could have a look at:

About - Web Design Glossary ( all web design terms explained!)

Business Link - Get the right sort of website. This is a very useful tool to help decide what sort of site you need

eCommerce websites

Our approach is to use tried and tested shopping cart solutions with a wide user base. Our favoured systems are ECT and osCommerce. ECT is a very stable commercial product with excellent support. osCommerce is an Open Source solution which provides a wide range of plug-ins, and for some situations is a lower cost option. Simple low cost website

If all you need is a simple site to give you internet presence, we provide a 4 page site in a standard layout for £6 a month and £250 to set up.

Content Management Systems

We strongly ecourage all clients to use a Content Management System. We use three options:

Simple CMS - simple to install in an existing site; low upfront cost. used to edit the content of existing pages/

Advanced CMS - OpenSource system. Very easy to use, and ideal for a multi-editor environment. Makes it very easy to expand a site using the inbuilt dynamic menus. Allows the user to create new pages which automatically appear in the menu system.

Web Standards Compliant (W3C) Design

If required we bring websites up to full compliance with W3C standards compliance or Accessibility Standards compliance. The reason for doing this is to assure a wide browser compatibility now and in the future, fast loading and good search engine performance. CSS designed sites using the latest design technology are no problem. In Northern Ireland, like the rest of the UK, it's now a legal requirement to have your site comply with accessibility standards.
